2 Days...3 Floats...What a Great Weekend on the Kaw!
The Weekend started with the Kreider Folks and several families floating from Perry to Lawrence…The flow had dropped to 6500cfs on the Kaw and many of the sand bar features that we appreciate had returned, giving us land dwellers a place to build sand castles, look for fossils and exchange stories and some homemade wine…The only real problem was Mother Kaw giving Uncle Ron a ride over the power plant rapids without a kayak... oh well... if ya have a bad time, it’s your own fault right?

Next up was an Early Moring Run on the Kaw... we jumped in at Jay’s and floated to Perry…in one day the water was up 3 feet…but it was still a beautiful morning and to top it off, we floated up on an Eagle perched not a foot off the water waiting for its breakfast... Very Awesome!
To end the day the Floating Flirties came back again this weekend for some more of that Kaw Lovin! Except this time they got smart and switched from canoes to kayaks. By the end of the float UAC even learned about some new Kaw critters... Kayaks, Beavers and Snakes... oh my!!!
