A Night on the Kaw!

The time has come to have our first over night camping trip on the Kaw. This is a kid friendly adventure. The float will be on July the 14th and it is weather dependent, considering what a wet summer it has been we will have to keep you posted if we need to cancel. There will be a canoe trip on the Delaware River and on to the Kaw. We plan on camping on a sand bar in-between the outlet of the Delaware and Lecompton Bridge. We will meet at Uncle Ron’s house at Main and Bridge in Perry around 1:00 Saturday afternoon 14th. We will load supplies, coolers and canoes on the trailer and head to our drop off location which is 2 blks. west of Uncle Ron’s house. Please plan on any supplies you will need to survive during the day, that night and the next morning.

Considering space for supplies, we are limited on canoes. We have 3 canoes open at this time, so if you are planning on attending let us know in advance to reserve a canoe. If you are bringing your own canoe we will help transport your canoes and supplies from Perry to the drop-in and get–out locations. We will attempt to have firewood for a campfire and cooking but please plan other means to cook food and staying warm. On Sunday morning we will plan on leaving a few hours after breakfast. We will plan on canoing back up the Delaware for the get out location but if the currant is to strong or we are too tired we will canoe down to the Rising Sun access point.
