The Last Run of 2007

On Monday the 31st Shannon and I thought that we would head out for one more float. With temps at 35 degrees and a brisk wind from the North we headed South down the Delaware. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water...with neoprene, stocking caps and coffee of course. We must have seen 25 eagles, mostly younger birds and a lot of sand cranes. In one grouping we counted 36 in flight.

We floated out on to the Kaw and stopped at the sand bar where we camped earlier this year. Quite a difference with snow on the bar. Shannon took a moment to write a message in the snow...I'm sure that the birds soaring over head appreciated his efforts. Enjoy the pics,  and Happy New Year to you all!
