October Sweater Run

October Sweater Run

Uncle Ron, The Puppy and Shannon want to thank everyone for all of the fun that we had together in this 2007 season. What a year! 15 scheduled events and 11 of them canoe floats, a lot of great times and tons of fun in the sun! Thanks! Well it’s time for our last scheduled float of the season, our “October Sweater Run”.

This float will go from Perry to Lawrence. The Run is about 11 miles. We will meet at the Rising Sun boat ramp around 11:00 a.m. and float to Lawrence’s Riverfront Park boat ramp. The Float should last about 5 hours with the usual stops and rest points along our way. The trees should be turning to the wonderful fall colors by then. I know that the foliage on last year’s float was absolutely beautiful!

The temperatures for October the 13th are projected to be in the mid 70’s. The winds are supposed to be light but it can drop the temperature on the water, so dress appropriately. Since the days are shorter on light we will be moving a little quicker down the Kaw but still plan to stop a few times, relax and do some rock collecting. Even though we are planning on cooler day make sure to bring drinks and some food to munch on.

We already have 8 signed up for this float which leaves room for about 12 more of you, so respond as soon as you can to reserve your spot.
